Hectic
Last week was very busy and over the weekend my wife held me hostage and made me clean, rearrange furniture, organize, sort, do yardwork, etc. Also had Science Projects to finish the last two days with the kids, so now its on to catching up on my own school work!! occupyonline:   Little did Willie Nelson know when he recorded “Crazy” years ago just how crazy it would become for our cherished family farmers in America. Ex-Mother-in-Law
Bought me and my wife two tulips for Valentines Day, already grown and needing to be transplanted. I have no idea what the hell to do with Tulips. In two years, I’ve only read/looked up about edible stuff…………now I gotta figure out where to plant these amongst the garden plants and have found zilch in the way of ‘companion planting’ for them. Anyone have a...

Like a Proud Papa!!!
My first seed that I saved from last year sprouted this morning. One of my Red Chile Peppers that I have in the rack-o-plant starts, and I have to admit it was very exciting to see!! I have some cilantro and cayenne seeds I saved also in some dirt (as well as a few more red chile), so I hope I have more a-comin’.

Keystone XL Pipeline: Texas Farmer Wins Temporary... →
“…A coalition of environmentalists, conservative property rights activists and landowners are mounting a full court press against TransCanada in an attempt to derail the oil company’s attempts to build the controversial Keystone XL pipeline in Texas. On Monday, they won a small victory when a Lamar County judge issued a temporary restraining order against the company’s plans to do construction...

nicolefaires: Our Soil Sifter 2.0. This is a major improvement on Soil Sifter 1.0 which needed two people, one to shovel and one to push the rocks down with a rake because the angle was not steep enough. A little innovation just freed up one person to do something else. The pile we are shovelling from is a pile of composted horse manure mixed with soil and rocks, and we’re removing all the...

]]> funwithplantingplans replied to your photo: A Back to the Roots oyster growing kit we got at… Good luck! I bought that kit a bit ago and only got a few mushrooms out of it. Then they just started shriveling up when they were teeny. I didn’t change the misting or anything. Hmmm ah well, hope you have better results! Thanks!! I have a slight bit of skepticism on how the results will...
